everytime after me crop my picz to 3:2 n then me go to Image Size ..... me realized that the rezolution will increaze frm 72 to something higher .....

thiz r my settingz when me crop:

width: 3 in
height: 2 in
rezolution: ( left empty ) pixels/inch


did me do something wrong .... ?? ....

y will the rezolution increaze ..... ?? ....

what are u using? photoshop?

if so, changing image size will do just that, resize it, while retaining the same number of pixels.

so same pixels but smaller area = higher resolution

what u should do is change canvas size, which will crop the edges as needed(use the %)

hmmmm ...... ok ok .....

so it'z not a problem if the rezolution increaze lah ..... ?? .....

That's because you are using the wrong tool.

For cropping, you are supposed to use the Rectangular Marguee Tool(the dotted box) and set the dimensions to 2:3 or 3:2 and just define the area you want.

You should not be using the Document size option in the Image Size section.

errrhhh ..... me think u got me wrong liao .....

1) me uzed the Crop Tool to crop to 3:2 with the above-mentioned settingz
2) me go to Image Size and dizcovered that the rezolution of the cropped image had increazed .....

:D

Then that's strange.

It doesn't happen to mine.:)
