Hi guys,

Planning for my first Xinjiang trip in next year march.

Anyone can recommend a tour operator in Xinjiang?

Thanks

Hi, I went to northern Xinjiang in Sep 2007 - an unforgettable experience! Besides a well-planned itinerary, a good driver is a must! I would recommend the following two drivers without hesitation:

刘 勇兵 13999266923
辜友苹 13565839828

The driver would fetch you from Urumqi airport, and drive according to the itinerary you come up with. Here are some photos to give you an idea of what to expect if you plan to visit Northern Xinjiang: http://www.pbase.com/neophotography/northern_xinjiang

I did not go to the Southern part though.

Hope this helps.

Hi cherrsyj

Thanks for the reply .

Just find a driver cum as a guide will do right?
You dont really need to buy a tour package from agent there.
Just plan your own itinerary and book hotels on your own.

How many days u went ?

We went there for 10 days ;)
You can have the hotel in mind. If you cannot arrive at the place in time, the driver will help to find.
We did not buy any tour package. But you need to pay for entrance fee for certain scenic spots.
Check this out for the brief itinerary:

It is good to visit xinjiang . Can you tell me how many days you are palnning and which time ?
Xinjiang divided two part and two part is diffrent with view and cultur as well. Be cause of the mountain tianshan xinjiang divided two southern side of tianshan is called south xinjiang with more dry climate desolated mountains ,desert, high mountains like karakoram , pamir, also famous silk road`s shouthern also end in here by kashgar. North will be ily, altay, urumqi, citis as I mentoned, but more grasslands lakes, and more rainfals,
If you want cultural trip I would say that you should fly to urumqi, from any major city in other parts of china. and then urumqi museum, overnight in urumqi to see the markets and next day turpan 150km from there. turpan you will see karez(underground water channedl) astana ancient city, jiaohe ancient city, tuyuk village ,grape valley, etc.
Then take train to kuqa where once was buddist ceneter in xinjiang, you can visit the kizil buddist cave which were built in early 4centeruy. Then take train to kashgar , and 3days in kashgar`s old city , sunday bazaar, and some other activities as well. Send me e mail if you like . Freealip@yahoo.com

Looking forward to join a trip to Xinjiang in Sep 2011. Anyone still have space for two pax?

Anyone knows what is the temperature like in September, cause i am planning to fly to Urumqi from 11-22 September.
