There are 3 version of this lens:
(1) Label says "Made in Japan" - These are the initial runs made in Japan.
(2) Label says "Nikon Japan" or just "Japan" - These are made in China
(3) Label says "Made in China" - These are made in China.
Feel free to do your own research on whether there are any differences between the versions. All I can say is that I have tried numerous samples across all 3 versions and this Made in Japan copy happens to be the sharpest.
Glass is clean apart from some minor dust, exterior also in good condition.
