Some occasional notchiness around the 24-28mm focal length adjustment.

Notchiness around the zoom has disappeared after using it a couple of times. Suspect that it may have happened because the lense has been sitting unused for a long while.

Took the lens today to the Nikon service centre. Verdict: Glass, zoom are fine; but the lens is making some squealing noise during AF. Nikon has diagnosed to be the lense motor. To change costs 560+, though the lens currently works fine in terms of focusing despite the noise.

So in light of the above, I'm dropping the price to $250. If you're willing to take a gamble, you could end up with a very nice lense for a bargain as the lense has been noise focusing for quite some time when I was using it. If the motor dies, you're covered for the motor replacement...
