i see liao also wanna cry . ="[

hard pain lor.

wonder if that happens (choy) who to find ?

this is the older version of the 70-200.

look at the front of the lens. AF lock buttons there.

Post by the TS was made over 2 months ago too.

OUCH! that hurts.

I will be sad, but if i will buy such expensive item over internet and bring via DHL i will buy insurance.

books or cd or dvd is fine with internet, glasses or fragile i will not

cheers

This usually means the person packing the lens did a lousy job.

Judging from the extent of the damange, the box should have been dented in some way, the onwner should contact Fedex for follow up, there should be transit damage insurance coverage.

the person who pack the parcel should liable for the damage. fedex is quite professional in handling their parcel but maybe to some extends there might be some mishandling. but if the packer does a proper packing with foams, bubbles wrap and more cushion, do you think it will damage this way? i myself pack machine parts assemblies which cost 10 times the cost more than this len and never encounter such issue with Fedex.

imho it'll take quite a big impact to actually damage a lens to this degree. if there was a packaging, it would most likely be totally destroyed.

No words from the TS.... wonder whats the outcome ??

He did mention it was not his, its just a photo he found through flickr.
