There is still hope.
Hope that you'll be able to meet people
who could appreciate your uniqueness in the use
of different languages.

Ignore those who smear at you and forget
them immediately.

In the meantime it is your choice whether
you want to improve in those areas that
you think are necessary.

We all started as a baby in Primary One,
those who laugh at us, laugh last. :bsmilie:

;):)

If you see someone posting a question in the forum in bad grammar, would you blast him about his command of the language even though you understand what he is trying to explain?

yes, only to make funny if that one my friend.:bsmilie::bsmilie:

this is a photography forum not a english forum for pit's sake.

And to top it off, it's "Pete's sake" ... not "(arm)pit sake". Don't ask me who is Pete, I only know a Daniel, a Charles, a Greg, a .......

:)

I am poor in my English! So how to correct?

1. dont be bombastic
2. use simple grammar: present tense, past tense, future tense
3. use dictionary. it is available on the internet too, free!
4. use simple sentence, if it contains more than 10 words probably it is too long already
5. sign up at english class in the CC (assuming you are in singapore). They do have english class.

For all you know, you just encounter another
person with low tolerance of other's ability.

Most probably neither did they realise the
"rough english" will not last forever.

Admire your input for your internal reactions will
surely win hearts.

The difficulty now lies with TS whether he wants to
take the first step towards that challenge.

Thank you for your encouragement.
Another way is that if you have microsoft word, type it in word first and turn on auto grammar and spellcheck.
Dont worry about formatting. After you are happy and done, copy and paste the text from word to clubsnap (work with other forum too).

I am not endorsing MS word, but this function in MS Word is pretty good.

how do we know whether TS care to be understood? maybe TS command of english is only up to that standard?

how do we help when we do not know and blast TS instead.....:bsmilie:

well. u could phrase it in a nicer manner?

like

hey i just bought a really cool len

and u dun go:
its lens u retard.

u shld go:
erm. i think the right word is lens, and not len:x

That is excellent indeed!

Someone said mastering english or
a task is not easy or even couldn't be
done, but you would be one who wouldn't
think first and lend out your hand to
help TS to try.

People should start to sing as they
tackle the difficult task that couldn't
be done and there will be many who
would come to their aid and do it.

A million cheers to you.;)

But frankly speaking, even though I am quite tolerant with bad English, sometimes some posts were so badly written that I was unable to understand what they were trying to say even after reading several times. To these posts I did have the urge occasionally to ask them to polish up their English.

i quite like correcting people's grammar when they start threads on other people's grammar.

oh wait, that person's gone. :bsmilie:

You should use capital letter at the beginning of a sentence.

Is that part of the Moderator's job?

Nah... I guess the TS only wish is to find out the tendencies of the posters here. TS hasn't state his/her opinion yet.

Maybe the TS will return later and do a statistic on all the replies as school homework.

Eh which part? The tolerant with bad English part, the reading post several times to try to understand it part, or ask them to polish up their English part? ;)

Aiya it's only an "urge" only lar, not that I'm really going to ask them to polish up their English.
