"The fastest imaging system ever devised has been demonstrated by researchers reporting in the journal Nature. Their camera snaps images less than a half a billionth of a second long, capturing over six million of them in a second continuously.

It works by using a fast laser pulse dispersed in space and then stretched in time and detected electronically. The approach will be instrumental in analysing, for example, flowing blood samples in a search for diseased cells.

What is more, the camera works with just one detector, rather than the millions in a typical digital camera...."

native ISO 1.6 million anyone??

Does that mean it's just 1 pixel? Haha!

It's quite funny how they try and sell the fact that it's 1 pixel only like it's a good thing...

I thought that's what's gonna please all the measurebators out there. One large pixel means one large photosite mah. 100% sure less noise than xxx model! ^_^

Hot/dead pixel how arh? ;p

6.1 million photographs may look similar too, with just a bit of difference here and there at small pixel size. It will be hard to do any post production work. ;p

yah but now all sports photographers can just machine gun and choose the best picture mah, never have to worry abt that split second you miss every again. Unless of course they all out of focus cos autofocus cannot catch up! LOL
