Yes, I (or we) love photography. But will you quit your current job to work for it or not? I wouldn't, once it's a work, becomes boring. I rather have a stable job and photography as hobby but I still invest on it. So, what about you?

the word "invest", means you put efforts, time and money into something, you are expecting some returns, so what kind of returns you expect from your hobby?

Once you take photography as a job, whether is part time or full time, you will have obligation, duties and responsibilities, and you have no choice to do something that you don't like, or even hate it.
moreover, 80% to 90 % of your energy and time are doing something else and not taking photos, even when you are taking photos, may not be always be your favourite subjects in front of your lens.
So does anyone here still think doing photography as career is very glamours?

The returns would be sharing the moments with other. But once it's for work, it's another story. Therefore, I only invest on certain equipments, esp those which I use mostly. :D

How often you find those photos are stimulating and exciting which shot by other photographers?
if you don't, it is the same way what other photographers felt when they look at our photos.

I rather have no job and no photography.

It is better if you are doing something you like (in this case we are talking of photography as your passion) than something you totally dislike but need to for a living.

When you have passion, you will perform better simply you want it to be better. Of course you will get bored with whatever you do even if it is going for a holiday but ultimately, you will miss what you like best.

But it is less likely to happen to Singaporean from my experiences. Why, survival in this tight market and scare resources. What pay you best, you will try no matter how you dislike it, till you have to give up.
