Wise Man told me that I am making common newbie mistake:
  • Talk too much
  • Read too much
  • Shoot too little.
纸上谈兵

He said "Pros do not waste time chit chatting on forums. Pros are out there at ground-zero shooting."

Hi, Theory teaches you why, Practise teaches you how. let's go to koptiam and talk
OK, when shall we meet again,
in thunder, lighning, or in the rain,
after majong or after game.

Did the wise men ever tell you:

- A person with the wise idea may not be the ideal person to execute it.
- A person with the ideal skill may not be the one with the wise idea.
- A wise idea + an ideal skill person may not be successful without demand.

If there are no chatters, clubsnap is gone. Without interest, there is nothing special about photography skills and seniors. Without demand, the paid professional will go bust. Without friendship, there is no relation.

Here is another wise words from me. There is always the need for balance and demand. If everyone are pros, makes not interest. :)

Having too much $$$$ also bad..... willing to help you share some of the badness.... :bsmilie:

having lots of great photos but no one share it with
will make a lonely great photographer with no one to see his great photos

how sad

people who don't know, should do research
if still don't know
then should ask question instead of shooting blindly

best is to make friends with ppl who know and go shooting together :)

so did you tell the wise man that pros do not waste time dispensing advice, but they are always out there shooting?

i once met the best photographer in the world, he looked at me and took a photo of my face. i asked him, if he had any advice to dispense, he ignored me and took a photo of a passing cat.

at this point i was puzzled, so i shouted "hey i want some advice", then he switched to a macro lens and took a photo of my teeth.

now i really understand how he gets his photos.

Wise Man once say life without talk and friendship is boring place to be...

Pros are out there at ground-zero shooting."

i went to look for this mystical place to find all the pros. no doubt they would just take more photos of parts of me when i ask them for advice.

i googled "ground zero", and i came up with this photo.

can you direct me where in the picture to find the pros? :bsmilie::bsmilie::bsmilie:

are they the little people clustered in the bottom left? where are their cameras??

the greatest photographer in the world passed me a message for you,

he said "i am happy, i am at ground zero and i am taking all the great photos for myself to see. i am not talking to anyone, i am not reading anything, and i am shooting a lot. be happy for me! see my smiling face!"

he then gave me a print of a self portrait.

i have never seen him since:

lol. i have just been pwned.

lol. i have just been pwned.

just some light hearted fun in the early morning.

that said, different people have different lifestyles.

maybe you might want to look at vivian maier:

http://vivianmaier.blogspot.com/

she might be a woman after your own heart :)

but not every one is a vivian maier.

I have some information to share about Vivian Maier. I met with two of the people Vivian was a nanny for in the 1950's and early 1960's today. They gave me some information that contradicts what I heard from other sources (this source is accurate). But, all in all, she is still somewhat of a mystery, even to them.

Vivian came here from France in the early 1930's and worked in a sweat shop in New York when she was about 11 or 12. She was not Jewish but a Catholic, or as they said, an anti-Catholic. She was a Socialist, a Feminist, a movie critic, and a tell-it-like-it-is type of person. She learned English by going to theaters, which she loved. She wore a men's jacket, men's shoes and a large hat most of the time. She was constantly taking pictures, which she didn't show anyone.
