Windows Laptop crashes when connected to Ipad

before I formated the computer, the laptop was able to load the Ipad with Itunes.
Now that this laptop has been reformatted, whenever i connect the Ipad to it, It will try to "install" the device(Usual Plug and Play method) , halfway through,
the whole computer becomes a blue screen with words and it just restarts itself with the System check(blue screen). If the Ipad is left connected to the laptop, it will once again repeat the whole error sequence.

This was the error message.

Error code 1000007e, parameter1 c0000005, parameter2 00000000, parameter3 f79d57c8, parameter4 f79d54c4.

it might because your Windows does not have the driver.. you might want to check the system requirement.

Windows Software
Windows XP Service Pack 2 or later, 32-bit editions of Windows Vista, or 32-bit editions of Windows 7
64-bit editions of Windows Vista or Windows 7 require the iTunes 64-bit installer

so what's is ur software? Windows XP Service pack 1 ??
