Win Xp enquiry

everytime when i turn on my laptop, i will be prompted for UserID, Password before i can log into my window, even though i did not set any password.

is there any way tat i can just go into my window without being prompted for identities? i tried to explore n tried different settings, but in vain. When i first got my laptop, there wasnt any prompted thingy until i d/l some Win Updates.
