i interested in getting a wimberly tripod head but the price is really off my budget ...
is there any brand which is cheaper , stable and avaliable in singapore eg velbon etc
thanks in advance ... :)

You might want to check out Benphoto at peninsular plaza. Benro does have a gimbal head range which design bears a striking resemblance to the Wimberley II. The only snag is that it is only a few hundred dollars cheaper than the Wimberley. (I believe the price is $650)

Benro 1 is more worth it. Strong enough to support 600 f4 weight. The only main difference is the turning axis, up and down too, plus able to see residual glue at the washer area

What lens are you intending to use it with?

currently i own a 50-500 bigma lens ... is it too over kill

If you get the full Gimbal head, you need to spend more on good tripod.
Get the sidekick + sturdy tripod + head suit your Sigma lens better.

yes overkill, even getting the benro 1. But its up to you if u have the money. U can go for a sidekick, but u need a good and solid ballhead , and ultimately u trust, because if the ballhead snaps, your whole load will drop off including the sidekick

Yes, I wouldn't bother with a Wimberley for the 50-500.
