hi guys,

i've bought a mini dehumidfier, basically one that can be reuse when u plug into a power socket to 'dry' the so called crystals that absorbs the moisture.

the trouble is that its really quite thirsty and within 30 mins, my humidity level falls to 40+. i'm not sure if it will drop further. if it does then probably i cant use it alr lol.

btw just wanna check, for those who r using silica gel, does it gets rid of moisture just as fast? will it keep on absorbing until it falls below the acceptable level? or is there a limit where it'll stay for some time?

tks!

Yes it does, unfortunately. Thirsty hippo normally takes about 2-3 days for a filled box to drop under acceptable levels. Once that is hit, need to take out already.

I've been wondering myself about these plug in dehumidifiers also.. looks like they are pretty thirsty :embrass:

Heheh when you use silica gel, you can choose to put how much into the dry box.

Nothing beats a proper Dry Cabinate; it self regulate the humidity level.
