will B+W CPL filter give vignetting ?

I couldn't find B+W CPL for 40,5mm so I was advised by MS to use step up ring to 52mm.

Will this step up ring give vignetting on my wide angle lens < 28mm?
Note: gap in between will give more distance before I attach CPL filter.

It should not, though I would advise you to try it out first if possible.

Nope. Didn't have any vignetting problem for my B+W filter
