god!

i took some precious pics for my coy project.
i d/l the raw n jpeg onto my pc but i cant view them from my canon DPP.
i tried to reload but i was told to reformat my CF card which i was told all my data will be
gone. i put back into my 5dmk2 and it says i need to reformat the card too.

what should i do to read my photos w/o losing my data?
if is needed, where and how much to do recovery?

thanks in advance...

Wait, chope.

You already downloaded right? Are the folder(s)/file names there?

Besides DPP, have you tried opening either RAW or jpegss with any other program?

As for re-reading the card ... try using another card reader.

If both (or 3) card readers cannot, try another computer with each card reader again.

Whatever you do, don't write/erase/format your card in the meantime.

I really do hope can open in CS3 or 4 or whatever you're using.

ya, loaded with file name intact but cant open or see images.
no, hv not try opening with other program or card reader yet.
is still store inside the CF, dare not to format yet.

ok, will get the designer to d/l n open the file.

thanks. :)

Sounds like a corrupted memory card to me. I would suggest you don't do any writing to the CF and use a disk recovery software to take a look at the card. Most likely the FAT32 table is corrupted but the actual files are still in tact. In that case, it is a simple recovery for the software and you should get back almost all the images. The key is DON'T WRITE ANYTHING TO THE CARD...

Hi Bro,

I had the same problem. I recovered the files using PC Inspector smart recovery. Google for this freeware. It should recover most of the images.
