why hor when Canon launch a new body it will be cheaper than the replacement but Nikon didn't follow :(

I want a new and better body but at a cheaper price.......

Is it an old Nikon manual lens u're talking abt? if u want, you could get a Nikon-Canon adaptor and use the lens on ur Canon body and enjoy the best of both systems ;p

The current Nikon AF-S 300/4 ED-IF is retailing around $2k if I'm not wrong.

The one you saw is likely the AF-D version, not the latest AF-S version, hence older and cheaper.

aiyah, it's second hand lah and the bids are going up. there were used Canon 300/4Ls going for less than $1k from time to time too.

oh, that would be nice. I was aware that EF 300 F/4L non-IS was discontinued and
the optical quality is better than IS version. I guess non-IS EF 300/4L must fall in this
price range.
