i think its smth wrong with the sensor.
AHAH. looks liked a PS Filter effect huh! artistic. hahahhahas.

switching on and off again doestn' help. but i rmbring giving it light taps and clamping the body tgt hoping all these nonsensical actions would help... and.. it did return to normal.

maybe some worms got inside your camera... haha...

this looks serious, maybe a sensor readout problem.. better send to Canon Service Center at Harbourfront to have them take a look..

Gals with mustaches? Your camera has a good sense of humor. Haha. Send it to CSC :)

Looks like an effect. Perhaps you adjusted your camera settings to some effect? Maybe your friends did it?

Just maybe..

looks like an in-cam effect to me, check your menus.
if it's not, CSC is waiting for u =x

Think the ink is not dry yet.........................;p Better have it checked. Could be a corrupted chip

Try reset your camera to factory default.

or Bas Relief with posterization.

just turn off the the effect button or revert to normal setting.

Probably a menu option... Factory Reset... look & try.

AHHAHAHAHAH. i love all ur replies.

now its alright, but just damn afraid that like u know.. crucial moment.. then ur camera jammmed. ahhahas.

but yea. cool effect huh. if cameras has such an effect, i think sales for PS will drown like alot. ahhahahahahhas.
but for sure, its not a camera effect. been with this camera everyday for more than a yr (maybe thats y).. ahhas. i think its sensor prob. haahhas. ):

ok. yea. i'll go over to CSC soon. ahahs.
thank u for replying and calming my heart abt my camera. ahhahahas.

HAPPY NEW YEAR.

Not too reliable a camera huh ?
What if you're on holidays abroad or covering someone's wedding ?

hahas.

if i'm covering someone's wedding, i'll definitely not use this cam. i mean like... omg. who uses this to cover weddings?!

hahhahas.
ok, hols abroad, abit worried. ahhahs.

Canon IXUS must not be used/ should not be used/ try not to use it/ avoid using to cover any wedding occasion... as per your statement, if i get it right.

Dun need to repair. I thought the effects were quite nice. Buy a new camera so that u have one effect camera and a normal one. Dun have to spend time to do PP. =)

Anyway, when Murphy's Law rules, this is only a teeny problem comparing to the explosion of the space shuttle on her way up and return.

Try resetting everything..
If it does not work, better send it for servicing..

My friend also encounter such a problem before.
After my friend sent it for servicing, the SC said it's a sensor problem.
