Just read the thread for 'Those were the days".
Nearly brought me to tears... in the office now so can't do that.
So much are lost over the years, so much are forgotten...
this is the reason why i pick up photography, to capture that moment, to safe keep the memorise.
So, what is your motivation?

same reason, started it during NS. remembrance. :)

I started in school's photographic society. Capturing moments is priceless.(at least to the individual if not to the rest)

Always wanted to take up photography until I bought my 1st P&S a few years back. Now THAT really got me hooked.

Because you never know how beautiful an object is until u paint it with the lights ........ ;) and picture tells a thousand words to me

Been shooting with my dad's oly compact since young, moved on to digital back in 1999, never looked back after getting my dream camera sony F707 in 2002... ;)

I actually started going out on solo shoots when I was feeling very down and out.The sights of the street always remind me that there is a past, and there is a better future. It started out as therapy and I also realised that the driving force behind my choice to take up photography is that a scene not captured, is a scene lost forever.

erm... was given a camera for my birthday. after 5 months as a paper weight, felt that it was a very very expensive paper weight.. (a rock is free!) and so i decided to do something with it... spent another few weeks in my dry box (present too!) and decided to really do something with it....

love to have my own pic taken. bought my 1st manual slr and let my friend using it to shoot me. but then my friends all dunno how to use, in the end pick up the knowledge and use it to shoot other people instead. :sweatsm:

Well, I started coz I'm not very bright, got pornography and photography all mixed up.

currently serving my NS and always wanted to go onto a serious photography as a hobby since few years back , recently just came across this wonderful local forum and get myself to learn more from the pros like you all . got myself a cheap SLR and hope i can fully utillize the function and master the art of photography before moving up to get a better cam that can satisfy my craving

Oh ya above was some introduction hehe ... WHY ? because i feel happy whenever i hold a camera , clicking shutter , zooming in and out , adjusting this and that ...

My second hand SLR : $200
35mm Flim : $4.20
Asking a gal out to pose and treat her dinner : $10
Develop the flim : $3
4R : $0.25
The satisfaction u get when u see yr photos : PRICELESS !!!!

They are certain things money can buy but for something money can never buy.

thank you for listening to my talking **** ;p
