Even though we are in the 21th century, whereby new media provides alternate channel for communication, we must not undermine the traditional media.

This is very apparent in this GE.

The traditional media such as television stations, newspapers, etc are used as a very effective tool to promote a particular party. You will realise that we will be bombarded with messages, news, etc of a party everyday. It is a kind of brainwashing.

You may be a young chap, generation Y person who knows how to use new media to obtain alternate messages but not everyone is IT savvy especially the elderly or older generations. Therefore, controlling the tradition media is so critical.

hahah I am 52 yrs old. I get all my news censored and uncensored online listening to all sides. The last time I switch on my TV is possibly 2005. heh.... never miss it and I get more clearer news that way. But the really old folks will vote the way they traditionally would or be sway by their children political slant to vote with them. But that old generation voters are about phased out. But another 1-2 election period, all the contemporaries will be in place and that is where things will get very "interesting'. This election will be interesting to watch.

I remember vividly, 5 years ago on polling day, the first piece of news I heard on radio was about how investors would be daunted should the incumbent party lose the election. Talk about fair play .....

I no longer even have a tv for almost as long...I am anti tv. LOL

I haven't voted in years. I am a centrist. No such candidate in USA ever even makes it past the primaries. Politics in America is like a horribly bad joke. My opinion.

MSM is even worse than tv. I get my information where I can find it, in places like this, chatting with gentlemen like you. :)

Always stay in touch with the traditional media.

What they say is good for the progress and prosperity of this great nation.

Ignore the traditional media at your own peril and at the risk of endangering your and your children's future.

TV stations, newspapers etc. etc. are tools. So spread a small clique propaganda and manipulated people.

And guess once the country in which there is no free press.
And where every day the news is censored.
And guess even where land behind every street corner or block
a plainclothes policeman stands.

A tip: It is not North Korea!

And he is a chicken hawk conscientious objector playing all big saying he would use the US military if he had too.

I don't like to sound so cynical but America has been so gerrymandered that in my state for example if you are liberal forget about winning anything...your vote does not count period. Let's not even go into the cheating, dead people voting, and hanging chads and all of that stuff.

Here is what I feel about our Congress:

What's your opinion abt Obama?
I think the last four words of this gentleman in this 45 second clip sums up my feelings and what many folks in the country think as well...

And to get us back on topic...

MSM...is even worse than the politicians.

Sex, drugs, violence nothing fair and balanced at all. Pick your side and they have a message to feed to you to make you all rosy and happy and hate the other side even more. Just a bunch of hogwash. My opinion.
