Why can we only keep 10 messages?

Okay, I don't want to sound like a whiner but - am I the only one who thinks that being only able to keep 10 messages in your account is WAY too little? The photos are the ones that take up space, not the messages. I'm not asking for hundreds of messages, even 30 would be much more convenient!
