Canon lens turns out much less frequent than Nikon mount lens.
However, on the "Equipment Discussions" section, Canon has more
posts than Nikon. Why the difference.

Why can't I vote in some of the Surveys? :dunno:

What on earth are you talking about?

you talking about Canon Equipment Discussions, Nikon Equipment Discussions or Buy & Sell... or the polls?

er, if i understand correctly, you're wondering why more ppl are selling canon lenses and why there are fewer nikon mount lenses being sold.

maybe nikon users don't feel like selling or don't want to sell whereas canon users are selling to upgrade? who knows? :dunno: :dunno:

Why Buy & Sell section only has Nikon lens?

However, on the "Equipment Discussions" section, Canon has more
posts than Nikon. Why the difference.

Another question,
Why can't I vote in some of the polls?

To your first question, B&S section has other lenses on sale besides Nikon lenses, so not sure what you base your claim from.

To your second question, there is no scientific proof that there should be a relation between the number of posts in the equipment discussion forum and the number of equipment sales in the B&S forum for a particular brand of equipment.

To your third question, you need a minimum post count of 50 before you can participate in polls.

Oh! I see more Nikon mounted lens than Canon mounts in the B&S section
these few days. It's first instinct to relate the number of equipments for
sale with the number of posts on a brand, until the relation is proven wrong
by facts.

I understand the 50 posts limits now. Thx.

There was a huge demand for D70 during the IT show in March, Lords sold approx 300+ sets (IIRC) over the 3 days period. Later some of these users sold their kit lens away to upgrade to other lenses. This could be one of the reason.

BTW, what is your intention for the posting??

maybe canon users love their lenses more? while nikon users prefer to keep trying out new lenses as and when a review about it is good?

There are also a number of other reasons that have pontential to turn this into a flame thread.

Now, we can't force any Canon user to sell their lens if they din't need/want to.. can we?

Anyway, I have also previously noticed a trend that the lenses sold comes in 'seasons' a one point.. there will be a lot of Canon lenses.. another point.. a lot of Nikon lenses.. but there's generally more Nikon lenses most of the time.

I see I see, I am new here and was wondering why, no
specific intention here. ;p
I hope this thread won't turn into a flame. :)
