not sure dude..
it's $165..
hoping for the best, wun need warranty..
I like to take chances with this sort of thing.. My theory:
say unbranded, 20mb/s card.
so what if it under performs at only 16mb/s? esp since same price as a 10mb/s card.

Bro, post the result on your FZ5 after you bought it. ;)
Thanks.

I just bought one Kingston 1GB Elite Pro (blue) from Active Foto at SLS for $135.90.
There are 2 Active Foto, 1 selling at $139.90 and another one selling at $135.90
The one selling at $135.90 think no more stock as mine is the last 2nd piece.
What I can said is that cheap & good cos lifetime warranty. ;)

Active Foto still selling the Kingston Elite pro 1GB SD for $135.90 with
quite lot of stocks.
Laser selling the Kingmax Platinum High Speed 66X SD at $139, less than
10 pcs of stocks left.
So anybody looking for hi-speed 1GB Sd can go take a look... ;)

Where to find 80x SD? ;) @ $160?

Saw Transcend 80X 1GB SD $166.90 at Active Foto too.
is 80x really 80x ? ie 20mb/s?

From transcent site, spec for 80X max tranfer rate: read 12mb/s & write 11mb/s.
You can download the datasheet HERE to see.
20mb/s is around 133X.
Anyway, the FZ series won't make a different with 10mb/s or 20mb/s..
10mb/s should be enough liao, so can save a bit getting the Kingmax
or Kingston Elite Pro. Correct me if I am wrong cos to exp to get
the Trancend 80X to try .. . :D

Anyway, I gotten the Kingmax at $139 to try out and it is around
3sec to 3.5sc to save 5 frame from burst mode compare to Kingston
Elite Pro at 4sec.

Just bought the Kingston Elite Pro at Active Photo today, 4th floor. Got stocks

Yah, both Active Foto got stocks and both selling at $135.90 now.. ;)

bought my Kingston Elite Pro 512mb at SL yesterday also. price $67. 1GB is cheaper i think.

Can the FZ20 use a 2gb SD Card?

you won't want to risk taking all your pictures in 1 card and if anything goes wrong...everything gone. for me i prefer to have a few cards.

Really ah? Even if i use the Sandisk Extreme III of 133X SD card on the FZ20, i won't see a different from using a 66X or 80X SD card ???

It just IMO. You might wanna try the 80X or 133X..

Today i went to buy a 1GB SD card. So used the messages in this thread as advice. Looked a few. And unknowingly spent an hour just looking, seeing & thinking 'price vs performance vs reliability'.

*Kingston Elite Pro (the person said 66X, i thought only 60X? But the read & write speed of 8.2 MB/sec & 7.7 MB/sec is slower than 60X isn't it?) - $135.90

*Sandisk Ultra II (66X) - $173

*Sandisk Extreme III (133X) - $239

*Transcend (80X) - $165.90

*Magu (66X) - $133.90

*Mediocra (72X, dun know real a not?) - $132.90

In the end bought Kingston Elite Pro... but should have bought Sandisk Ultra II leh... wat you guys think? That $37 more for being a bit fast (if it does in the 1st place) worth it a not?

Why don't get Transcend 80X? At least we can see how the diff with
Kingmax & Kingston..

Test the Elite Pro with your cam burst mode and see how long it
took to record to card.

I find the Transcend SD card a risky purchase coz it only has 1 yr warranty. Price close to the Sandisk Ultra 2. Maybe between the 2, i'll pick the Sandisk. I can't test the card as i've resold it already. Now thinking which to get... Transcend or Sandisk??...
