Bro , which one is better. the Nikon 18-135 or kit lens 18-70 . I have look up on it on the net but i still cant decide which one to get. What do you suggest ?

Depends on your usage. 18-135 gives you longer reach. But I reckon 18-70 has better build quality and gives better image quality.

i get 18-135...longer reach n lighter.. :)

if you're looking for quality build, the 18-70 is by far the best kit lens i have ever used. If you're looking for reach, the 18-135 is good. if you're looking for something simple and cheap, the 18-55. if you've got money to spare, the 18-105mm VR is more worth it.

the 18-70mm is the only kit lens metal.. the rest are plastic

18-70

18-70~!:thumbsup::thumbsup::thumbsup:

16-85mm if you have the dough to spare...otherwise 18-70mm:)

18-135mm for me ! The pix quality may not be as good as the 18-70mm but the convenience for travelling is great. Need steady hands at the long end since there's no VR..... alternatively, get the 18-105VR.

18-70. If you're handicapped and cannot move without the aid of wheelchairs, get the 18-135.

The 18-200 guys must really be serious then.... lol ! ;p

18-70....

its one of the best kit lens around...

:)

18-70 the first Nikon overly design kit lens. Still good. Now very cheap if you can find one .:thumbsup::thumbsup::thumbsup::thumbsup:

Apart from built and some bad rep of the 18-135mm having contact issues with D80 previously, I do not believe the difference is nakedly visible for picture quality. ( but most will say otherwise, including the charts ) I was pretty happy learning from my 18-135mm.

If you are not picky with technicalities, you would not be wrong with either based on what you need.

Very true indeed. I have both the 18-70mm and the 18-135mm. I can't tell the difference in the picture quality and my 18-135mm suffered from intermittent contact which was fixed by NSC under warranty.

At the end of the day, the convenience of the 18-135mm gave me a better utility. The 18-70mm became my back up. Both are pretty decent if you ask me.

To the TS,

Here's some information for you.

Nikon 18-70mm Review

Nikon 18-135mm Review

Overall Rating is 8.30 for the 18-70mm and 8.44 for the 18-135mm, but do take the ratings with a pinch of salt as they are more subjective than not and depends on individual needs.

What I do agree with is the last paragraph in the review for the 18-135mm (2nd link above). Read up and arrive at your own conclusion hopefully. :)

BTW, I think you won't go wrong with either choice. Or even with the newest 18.-105mmVR taht .Hack brought up. More like how much you wanna spend for this lens.....
