Which Lens would you choose for a Europe trip?!

Hi people!
I going for a backpack Europe trip in June, need advise on suitable lens.

My gear,
Body: Canon 5D and 500D
Lens: Canon 18-200mm, 20-35mm

My budget: 1k to 2k

which one would you choose?

1) Canon 17-40mm 4L
2) Canon 24-105mm 4L IS
3) Canon 24-70mm 4L IS

or other primes/ Tokina / Sigma lens?

you can bring both your cam bodies + 17-40 and 18-200 IS :)

17-40 is easy to carry around. In fact, I also brought along a longer focal length lens but its unused.
 

If you can get the 24-70 F2.8, would be a better choice for walkabout lens, thinking of getting it too... Currently, holding on to 16-35, 70-200, 50 prime so 24-70 will be good for me to complete the range.

u sure u want to carry a 24-70 + 5D on top of it 500D + 18-200 to go on a back pack trip?

Just bring 1 body will do.
 

i prefer an ultra wide. rented a sigma 12-24mm to capture all e amazing buildings. used it on a 5d2.

Oh sorry I never use sigma lens before.

How's the image quality? :)
 

crop body + 17-40L(budget + weight&size advantage) or if you can handle the weight, 5d + 24-70 f2.8L and either the 17-40 or the 20-35
 

5D + 17-40L and 24-105L

or

500D + 17-55
 

Just 5D with 24-105mm… you'll have IS, 24mm is still wide enough, 105mm may be abit 'short'… but not everyone need zoom till 200mm. Maybe a 50mm f1.8/f1.4 for low light condition. Personally… bringing 2 camera is an overkill… :think:
