Which LED panel do you use?

I'm thinking of adding a portable LED light panel for video recording. Does anyone use the CN126 led or the Z96? HERE is a comparison between the two with a clear winner but just wondering if anyone here has bought either or if you have better suggestions?

I am interested in the Z96. It seems to be brighter and less vinetting. Is it sold in Singapore?

YEs looks like it has potential

Now, lets see if they will price it ridiculously such
that no one will buy.........

I am using 2 x126 LED, sometime as fill light or focusing beam. So far so good.. ;)

most probably around SGD $100? The pricing in the e-bay looks reasonable.

They are ridiculously cheap in China. Many versions available now, not just the Z96. I was with my friend in Shanghai and we bought an even more powerful version for around $80 SGD inclusive of charger, flip on diffuser/CTO, AA battery holder, and a rechargeable Li-on 3rd party camcorder battery pack and DC power adapter. Z96 is selling for around $75 SGD in China now. They are all capable of taking AA, or Sony camcorder battery packs.

Any Mass Order? I want to buy few to join them up. :bsmilie:

I am new to ebay....how you select the item? I saw some prices are different on the same product.

Just click on the blue description from the list of products which will bring you to the actual item page. There is usually a 'Buy It Now' button in Blue. Just click on that which will bring you to a 'Pay By Paypal?' page. Obviously you must have a registered Paypal account before you can use paypal (which entails registering your credit card with them). Normally Paypal is the way to go as most of these companies don't accept cash or money/postal order as payment.

Btw THIS is where I got mine from. You may find cheaper but this is the guy that was recommended by the blog I posted earlier

Congrats. I'm still waiting for mine to arrive. Btw, there is some mention of diffusing the light of these LED panels. What do people normally use to do this? Umbrella, small softbox, white A4 paper?

For me I would use it as bare light and maybe with some flag to block some lights.

I use a variety of LED lights and recently gotten quite a lot of Z96s to form clusters of light bank.

Z96-003.jpg

3x1 config & 2x2 config.
Z96-005.jpg

Comparing the footprint & size with traditional redheads.

Color temperature of the Z96s have been fairly accurate.
Unfiltered is at an average of about 5600K, and with CTO filter is at about 3200K which matches very well with my tungstens.
Dimmer control isn't continuously variable like most of the other better units i had. The intensity control seem to be in steps.

So far the best part about these lights is the ability to customise the way I want my lights to react in terms of power & throw. 1x1 config, 2x1, 3x1, 4x1, 2x2, etc...
Using LEDs for video lighting is best left unblocked or flagged as they can cause multiple shadows which look quite irritating and unnatural.

Hi Dixon,
Nice set-up u have.
How much did u pay for it and where did u buy?
:)

Gotten from my supplier in china. After shipping and tax, Totals to about S$550 per 4pc Z96set including stand mount and F970 batt holder for the cluster.

May be consolidating some more orders for 4pc cluster sets for friends. PM me if keen.

I bought one from THIS ebay seller for US$65.95 incl free shipping. Depending on exchange rate, that works out to about $340-370 for 4. Unless the F970 batt holder and stand mount is $200, I would have expected it to be cheaper in China?
