i've been to many camera outlets in SG and as usual....
the salemen and women gives u many looks :


1-if u ask -'dont-bother-to-answer' look,:what:

2-and if u ask for discount -'oredi-discount' look but no discount,:nono:

3-if u dont buy-'get-lost' look;(

Go to Gopes for traditional excellent service that is not rude or pushy.
It is not an el-cheapo place but is not a cut throat place etiher.

In some shops they PURPOSELY ignore you so that you will throw $$$$ to get attention.

Same low class tactic being used in some nitespot (near Peace Ctr)...

Where's Gopes? Yep, agree with you. Or most of the time its the other way round. Once I was at a shop behind CW in Peninsula looking at the Lowepro camera case. One of the salesmen quoted $60. On seeing I kept quiet (looking at the case, u c) within 30 secs, he said $45. Then when I was about to step out, he said $30! I thank him and left but I heard a tirade of *#!@+%^$ trailing behind me...

Sigh... must buy izit, cannot look and weigh options? :dunno:

if you dont want to get ripped off and want to get a reasonably good deal, then mustafa is okay.
but its not the cheapest.

some of the smaller outfits that people patronise here can offer better deals, and some of them also have better service and more knowledgeable staff. some also have 7 day return policies which is quite useful.

so far, i got all my stuff from ms colour. no complaints. very competitive pricing and good knowledgeable impartial service.

TCW gets my vote :thumbsup:

Gope comes a close second although their range of stocks is not quite varied enough. They are probably the best place to pick up new Leicas in Singapore though.
