which is better for beginners

im new to this website and photography and im still in the learnin journey..

Need an opinion,which type of camera is better for learnin....manual or auto?

FZ5? hmm, IMO tt cam is good only if u buy an external flash. cos the flash for FZ5 is quite puny. noise levels are high also.

y not top up a bit more get the S9500 by fuji? or G6 or S2 IS?

how much do i need to have in order to grab a dslr cam?

DSLR is not complete without the invest on lens, flash, battery, grip etc... So if u want to plunge into it, at least prepare urself a S$2k for very basic setup.

with image stablisation,actually there's not much need to go up to ISO 200 or 400 for night shots.

only those cameras without IS need to reach high ISO level in order to keep their image from bluring if they are not using a tripod.

besides powershot S2 is also quite noisy at ISO 400 which is a common problem for 5 mega-pixels compact camers.

I think a camera with hot shoe is better like fz20.

Can get a second hand fz20 abt ~800 plus flash.

A new DSLR setup is abt $2k, second hand ~$1.5k
