20D is more for the advanced users. If i were you i'll take 20D.

What's the price difference between the two? Back in the days when I bought a camera, the difference was over a thousand bucks. At that stage, I decided that I wouldn't be needing the built and extra features of the 20D. And besides, I wanted as light a camera body as possible. The 350D was a no-brainer. The cash I saved went into buying a new lens.

20D has better feature and performance than the 350D. To me i didn't quite like the 350D as it's too small, even with the grip on. I prefer the size of 20D or better, the 1D series. So it's like you pay for what you get.

Hmm.. hope i'm not OT here..

Think the question to ask is which range.

Either the Canon 350D or Nikon D70s

20D or D200

D2X or 1Ds

Are you a hobbbyist / enthusiast or professional hoping to sell your prints?

When you do make up your mind, then you strike off the brands you do not like.

If you ask me, I say you go for (seeing that you like Canon) 350D.
The money could really be well spent on lens and accessories.

Me too is thinking of getting one but am looking at the upper range, so... 20D or D200? I had tried 20D and like the handling, image a bit soft compare to Nikon but colour is definately better than Nikon. Still using my F100.

The next question is that, should I sell my Mamiya RB with three lenses or should I trade in and top up for Canon 5D full frame?

Will the full frame comes into the 20D range or even 350D range?:dunno:

Go for 350D and spend the $ on better lens. ;)

wait for the price to drop

True .. thinking of Nikon too but as for design and as a start for a beginner for DSLR .. i heard that 350D may be a suitable one ..

Plus rumours abt the upcoming Canon camera replacing 20D .. so 20D prices may drop ..

yes confirmed OT.

there is no direct comparison on 350D and D70.. more like 350D with D50.. please don't throw in a bait for trolls and flame starters with the 20D D200 and so on..

Clearly threadstarter only wanted 350D or 20D.

5D looks so tempting, nearly converted me to canon, but then the d200 came out  to nikon haha!

I also did consider a 5D but too expensive. For me i prefer full frames and currently full frame DSLRs are too costly. That's part of the reason why i still use film.

not everybody requires fullframe.

fullframe brings back dreaded memories of the old film days when your 200mm cannot reach as far as 320mm, and your 400mm cannot reach as far as 640mm
