i) nice evening scene (been to vivocity, too many distractions and barriers)
ii) day scene

There are some places where you cannot take photos for security reasons.

In any case, you can try your camera anywhere. It's up to your creativity.

Have you tried Clarke Quay? Padang? Chinatown?

For day scene, you can go to Bras Basah...try taking historical and cultural buildings..

define evening, my idea of evening is sunset timing
in that case, got so many places, kallang basin, labrador park beach jetty, punggol end jetty
what sort of scene you want?

day scenes, A LOT OF PLACES la.. if you need ideas just refer to this list, it is not exhasutive at that. also can refer to azure's landscapes/travel in that section. he has a lot of daytime shots
