You can read all about it on the internet and there are quite a number good Photography sites. Personally, I bought a book called PH0TOGRAPHY(eighth Edition) published by Pearson Prentice Hall and in there you can good explaination of basic photography skills such as Lighting, Exposure, Special Techniques,Using Filters etc etc.
