Hi,

I want to buy Canon 550 kit deal. I have found some good sites for it which offer kits

1) http://www.getitdigital.com/category.php?category=270042
2) Amazon also provides many kits
3) EBAY like
http://cgi.ebay.com/Canon-EOS-550D-T2i-Digital-SLR-Camera-7-Lens-Kit-/140445418081?
pt=Digital_Cameras&hash=item20b3330261

I am unable to understand whether i purchase from these kit offers or buy separate things from some trustworthy store which definitely cost more. I am not sure about the quality of items from the above 3 sites

Can any experienced person resolve my this problem?

from what i see in the links you posted...

i would say better not to get from there...

seems like a crappy deal...

why don't you heed all the seniors advice and look to buy ur camera and lens locally...

do they not have the 550d??

but the issue is , why these people have 99%+positive feedbacks if they sell creep items?

its not whether its creeps or what..

the things in the deal don't neccessarily you need... crappy lens converter... weird tripod etc..

give you alot of things but all not worth it one... cheapo, then bundle together and then entice ppl to buy at that price..

if you did some research you would know that you can get better deals from local retailers..

have u factor in the shipping cost + local warranty (FYI - camera bodies bought overseas got no warranty)? or u just see the price stated on the website?

@sinned79: Well, i am amazed from the prices of deals

have u considered going down Comex to get it? it's $1449 with the EF S18-55IS lens. and with tons of freebies!

erm... you can get it outside shops like less than $1449... just check out the price guide...

don't bother with COMEX unless you getting other stuff.. sd cards, accessories etc...

sometimes it can be too good to be true too.

anyway those prices are not in SGD but USD so converting back, its almost the same price as SG (haven factor in shipping charges if any).

somemore most of those freebies aren't worth anything but just to make up the numbers to look good.

i did some comparison for canon for prices at comex and outside... hardly any difference, and simply not worth suffering the crowds...

also, if you buy overseas or non-sg online stores, you won't get warranty on the body, as generally, the body warranty is only local

my suggestion is that you try and get the body locally, and buy lens overseas if you can as lenses have int'l warranty... i saw some post of someone visiting hk and offering to buy lens .. you might want to look up posts with something like "lens in hong kong" or similar

Unable to understand online stuff, then buy 2nd hand in CS, or buy from local shops and lens from HK.

Need to factor in the cost of GST when the item clears the customs and warranty issue and do the maths to see if its still worthwhile to buy online and take the risk.
