where does the sensor dust go?

Hi guys. When you use the in-camera sensor cleaning, where does the dust/foreign particles go?
Just curious, because I had a huge speck of debri on my sensor and after the in-camera sensor cleaning function kicked in, it was gone.

Probably dropped to the bottom

Inside your camera... just not on the sensor... with luck, next time you use a blower... you'll get it out.

When you click on the sensor cleaning option, the DSLR sensor will open a miniature wormhole within the spacetime continuum and transport it to another parallel universe.

Seriously speaking though, for the case of the Canon EOS Integrated Cleaning System (ICS) dust particles falls off the IR cut-off and optical low-pass filter forward of the CMOS sensor and onto an adhesive pad.

Weather proof body absorb dust better than none weather proof body, so if u break that casing into 2, u will see all dust inside .. ^^)

using blower isnt the best solution, because i encountered situations whereby although i already face the mount downwards and blow, the dust ended up going into the camera innards. and ended up sometimes bo tai bo ji, suddenly a dust speck reappear again because the dust from the camera innards come out to the front again..

the best solution is, wait until the dust situation really very jialat, then bring down to canon let them use liquid solution to clean it, its cleaner this way.

The removed dust is then captured on an adhesive absorber at the bottom of the filter.

Wah lao. Those looks more like Google's nose sh1t than dust. :sweat:

If you look carefully underneath your dslr there is a microscopic hole on it where the dust is expelled into the air.

But our nose is positioned above it when we view through the finder.

Many photographers have perished because of lung cancer caused by the toxic sensor dust.

Many have switched to live view or wear a face mask when shooting.

I think i better wear a mask or sell my dust reduction cameras. I cannot live with live view leh.
