Hey guys

I have just finished designing a Cd album including front cover and back cover pieces for a friends album they have just put together. Its all designed to the right aspect and size, i just need to know if there is somewhere i can get it printed in a booklet and also stuck together in booklet form.

Does anyone know where I can do this?

Cheers!

You need to ask catchlights. He has been selling and shooting albums. :)

thanks, but, your info is not updated.
#1, I no longer selling albums
#2, the album I used to sell is for 4R photos.
#3, I shoot anything, nowadays mostly people.
#4, maybe some of my shots being used as album cover (song/music), but I have no idea.

Ok, back to wildstallion.

first thing, I prefer to use email instead of PM, cause PM box always full.

second thing, I don't do all this things, but try to help to my best knowledge.

if you want to print booklets as in low vol stuff, like one or two copy, can consider using digital print offer by many instant print shops.

for higher volume, lowest cost is using off set printing, can talk to Winsonapm see what he can offer you.

Hope this help.

Thanks for your fast reply.

Thinking of roughly 10 copies to begin with. But i have designed it wrong i reckon. My designs are how i want it to look finished, but it will have to be cut up and stuck in a different order for a booklet right? To stop blank pages etc happening.

is this going to be printed on both sides of the paper?

you will need to add cropmarks and bleed as well
best bet is to get it printed via a copy machine, one that does duplex printing
but keep in mind that the registration is usually off by about 1 or 2 mm

also the back insert will need to have the spine and score line for folding

ok had a good look at your layout files

you need to have the cover and back cover on the same piece of paper
cover on the right and back cover on the left
then inside front cover on the left and inside back cover on the right

can you see the pattern

Ive left enough for bleeding and crop marks are there digitally.

no score line though...

Is there anywhere i can just give them my designs and how i want it too look and then they just print it and make it into a book?

I think ive underestimated the complexity of this task!

Yeah, i get this, but its easier said then done!

your layout is in reader spread
you need to make it to printer spread

if you have indesign it will be easy to convert with little work.

if you do not want to re-lay
you can try bras besar complex

but make a mock up for them to see what the finsihed product should look like

great, you have the right person to help you. :)

as like ortega said, you booklet has to be multiple of 4 pages, so is 4 pages, 8 pages, 12 pages and so on and so forth.

of course you may have some pages just leave it blank.

^_^ Heheh~ :embrass:

you can make a small dummy booklet has same pages as your design, with any paper will do, use a marker write the all page numbers on the dummy book, than dismantle it, now you have all the corresponded left and right page for printing.
