where can i generally get the cheapest dslr?

hi,

i'm interested in getting a dslr for my exchange trip. i'm just wondering where i should get the dslr from because i will be travelling to new york, and have the chance to stopover either at hongkong or japan.

so between hong kong, japan, US and singapore, where should i buy?

please help!

why not second hand, in singapore.

if must brand new, i think either us or hong kong. it depends.

i think getting a dslr from singapore is the best, since you will be returning back after yr exchange trip, and most sets in singpaore covers international warranty...

US could could be a little cheaper now cos exchange rate is @ 1.4 woot!. a quick browse at amazon will tell u its cheaper in the US as compared to local price. (however warrenty US ONLY)
HK price is almost SG price maybe lesser by 50-100 depending on model.

cheapest alternative is definately BnS in SG. find someone that knows how to test a camera then go buy.

warranty is definitely an issue as this is ultimately an electronic item.

imagine time and money wasted flying over there to get it fixed.. don't know bout the customer service though..

save the hassle..buy local
