Still waiting for a compact digital camera with good ISO 1600 performance, fast lens (not necessarily a zoom), short AF lag, long battery life, for less than $1000.

Yup, was told G3 will be coming but not in the next few months. Digital cameras are very volatile... Rest assure even if you get the G3, a higher end model (G4??) will be out prob in a year or so.
