guess most of us have used our current cameras for a while. want to share what features you like to have in your next camera purchase? it'll be good to list down the ones you've used.

Let me start.

I've used the Fujifilm 4700Z and Casio QV2900UX.

Features I want for my next camera:
1. big zoom (at least 200mm)
2. good manual controls (wide range of shutter and aperture settings)
3. less noisy high ISO images
4. ability to fit on filters, converters
5. hotshoes on body for external flash
6. uses AA batteries
7. easy access to settings (instead of having to fiddle with menus)
8. uses CF cards
9. capability to capture long and good quality video clips
10. fast AF

Do you know of any cameras (other than the S602Z) that could meet the requirements?

Mine (wrt consumer DC, not DSLR):

cameras used: Fuji 2300, Canon A20, Olympus C700UZ

1. big zoom (above 200mm), good wideangle (35mm enough)
2. uses AA batteries
3. good build, SLR design
4. effective Noise Reduction algorithm
5. shutter speed of 15s - 1/2000s, including bulb
6. aperture F2.0 - F11
7. hotshoe (support TTL if possible)
8. high ISO options but low noise
9. sealed lens unit, can fit add-ons without adaptor
10. fast AF
11. mechanical zoom ring
12. manual focus ring
13. EVF
14. low-light focus illumination

a bit the demanding right, hehe..
I think S602z comes close, so that's my next target.

I just want a Canon EOS 1DS! ;)

I think, I will stick to analog SLR cameras for a few years, before I decide to move on to digital SLR camera ( hopefully by 2 years time digital technology improves so much that 10 mega pix will be within reach).
Anyway, I have just bought a new SLR camera - F80S. I do believe it will last me for a good few years, before moving to digital. :D

Camera I'm using now: C700uz and EOS50E

What I wish:

Big zoom
Fast AF
High ISO selection(yet low grain/noise)
Better noise reduction
Fast shuttle lag
Able to take 10pic / second(muahah)

Give me a DSLR :
- based on at least a Nikon F100
- full frame sensor
- at least 5fps
- Cost <= S$4000
- Noiseless up to ISO 800
- fast AF

And a consumer DC
- Size of say, a 775
- 3-5x optical zoom
- noiseless up to ISO 800
- no or minimal shutter lag
- fast AF
- f/1.8 lens

Regards
CK

Using Canon G1 now.

Want:
G1 Price, D-SLR quality
10x Zoom
Non-contrast detection autofocus:D
Sensitive enuff to let me take photos in concert halls
Light as a feather and compact, but with full manual features
Selectable focus areas

ok, that's about it.

SLR-like~
Large EVF...
Swivel EVF or LCD.
Manual zoom ring with manual or fly by wire ring type manual focus...
Good zoom (fixed lens lah~)... 35mm to 200 or 250?
Bright lens
Fast AF with AF points like the Dimage 7i
X3 CMOS sensor? Dun want also nevermind
Low noise with ability to shoot at high ISO
Easy to access external controls
Hot shoe mounts with appropriate off camera flash and PC capability (Hope to get into studio shooting)
CF card and Microdrive compatible
Good grip design (Now... will they stick that D7i's grip on my D5?)
And of cos, full set of manual controls, A and S piority, long expsoures of say 30 seconds? (Should look at all those 30 seconds long exposures, the ligh effect is so surreal)
TTL-flash even with external flash units...

That's all I can think of for now.

cos when i take pictures of ppl, it keep focusing on the background:angry:

Tweek and mpenza, you might want to look at the Minolta Dimage 7i. It doesn't meet every of your requirements, but comes close.

As for me, I'm waiting for the Fuji S602.

No, what you really want is a D2. :D

Seriously though, here are my features:

[1] Hand warmers (seriously, a camera that can keep the user warm would be amazing, and not altogether unfeasible if somewhat impractical)

[2] A digital SLR that has focus-priority continuous AF.

[3] Some sort of intelligent AF sensor that doesn't rack to the high contrast backgrounds at every opportunity.

[4] Very many stops of dynamic range.

[5] And all the usual schmuck about no noise images, high res, high frame rate, high... in fact high everything except price.

Hmmm.... nothing. After spending a fortune on upgrades (EOS-50, EOS-3, EOS-30, etc) and lenses, I think I'm OK with what I have. No more upgrades in the near future, unless someone is willing to trade in his/her D30 for my EOS-30 ;p

Well personly i think that i have everything right now , so i can not think anything more :bsmilie:
