Hi friends,

The heaver gear is not my camera bags but is my tripod(5kgs old type no money to upgrade).

In my Lowepro Topload AW70 consist:
1) Canon 10D with battery pack.
2) Flash light 550EX
3) Zoom lens 28mm-135mm
4) wide angle lens 17mm-35mm
and
5) BIG and HEAVY tropod.

I like to take night shoot so I have no other way.

Regards

my tripod is jus around 3KG...haha

Depends on occasion, but here are the mainstays:

Canon EOS 300 (of course!)
Tamron 24-135mm zoom
Canon EF 50mm f1.8
Canon 540EZ Speedlite (long-term loan)

all contained in the Canon bag with blower, microfiber cloth, lens cleaner, lens tissue, spare batteries, manuals, etc etc...

and one very important thing: FILM!!
At least 2 rolls, depending on situation may bring 2 or more rolls of different ISO.

The usual gear should come up to 2-3kgs.

 i saw 6 - 7 KG ...what your gear...please share ;)

for normal shoot 1 set of lens, body >2kg

for assignments at least 2 sets of the above plus one tripod + 2 sets of flashlights. abt 10kgs

Hmm... it depends. I like to carry around the OM2n and a 50/1.8 which is hardly a few hundred grams. Or it's the Canon with another 50mm or the 24/2.8 which is also a few hundred grams. If it's an event, then it's the Canon, a couple of lenses and a flash, which is around 3kgs.

Kelvin, you may like to define what kind of shoot you are refering to. Some of us will vary the range of gear used for the different circumstances.

On the general below, i would often end with 1-2 bags with about 10kg or more.

For an average non-wildlife/sports corporate event coverage (4-8hrs), the following would be used:

(Nikon System)
2xD1x/2xF100/F5
20mm
50mm
17-35
28-70 (AFS)
70-200
80DX(2)
28DX
power bracket
battery packs
6-8pcs spare D1x batteries (not including ones in the body)
AA batteries (flash, battery pack & bracket: 2sets each min, film bodies if any:2sets each)

If shooting digital there would also be the notebook(3kg)+CDs+cables, plus printer at times.

If shooting film, there would also be lots of spare film, >20 rolls min.

Other general stuffs:
blower
pressure cleaner (sometimes, depending on location)
chamois cloth
plastic bags
stationery
etc...

Optional items :
tripods, cable release, SC17, IR sync for flash slave, reflector, light meter, flm picker, etc (e.g. other lenses, MF...)

An average corporate even shot for me..

Nikon system..

2 x F4s, 1 x FM2
M28mm
M50mm
14mm
20mm
17-35
28-105
80-200 (AFS)
300 f4 AFS - depending on event
2 x SB28's
1 x SB80DX
2 x SB8a

accessories..
Synch cables SC17, SC24, waist level finders for F4, Flash brackets, lens cleaning kits, platic bags, note pads and at least 20-30 rolls of film.. including 3-4 rolls of Tri-x 400 and Tri-x 100, explore g2220 tripod, a spare shirt.. and my vest.. oh yah.. spare batts for flash.. at least 3 changes.. body.. usually I dont carry spares..

All this fits into a 2 x Lowepro AW500

on my regular walking the street shootings (now..)

Nikon D100(w/MB-D100) + 24-120 AFS-VR + SB800
20mm f2.8 AFD, 50mm f1.4AFD
and sometimes a 70-210 or 70-300..

It depends on the theme of the shoot.

If it's simply nature, I'll probably bring my extension tube, Tripod setup (<2kg), Camera body + Grip (2kg) + Bazooka (1.5kg) + speedlite and some other accessories ...

If it's street photography/scenary, it'll probably bring my 50mm, a general zoom and/or even a wide zoom.

Thus it really depends ...

Depends. Before I went digital, I used to bring :

1 x EOS 5QD + VG = approx 1 kg
1 x 630 body as backup = approx 0.5kg
1 x 28-135mmIS or 28-70/2.8 = approx 600g
1 x 100-300 or 80-200/2.8 = 600g - 1300g
1 x 20-35mm = 500g
1 x 540EZ speedlite = approx 500g.
1 x 1.4x convertor or 2x convertor = 200g
1 x cleaning kit + filters = 200g
1 x lightweight tripod < 2kg
1 x camera bag of course == 1kg ?
total = 7-8+kg

Now that I am into digital, my kit is lighter
1 x EOS 300D + kit lens = 900g
1 x minolta A1 for backup 600g
1 x 100-300 or 80-200/2.8 = 600g - 1300g
1 x 500DG Super = approx 500g.
1 x 1.4x convertor or 2x convertor = 200g
1 x cleaning kit + filters = 200g
1 x lightweight tripod < 2kg
1 x camera bag of course == 1kg ?
total = 5-6+kg

That's my standard kit.

If I'm trying something specific, like maybe some macro, I lose the A1 and 1.4/2x teleconvertors and bring extension tubes, 50mm/1.8, and my closeup filter.

Arrggggghhh... !!!!! Can die reading all the heavy setups

Had enough of days having aching back. So if I'm not working I try to carry a Yashica T4 around

I feel very relieved (my shoulders at least) looking at the amount of stuff you folks carry around :) My wife thanks me too... after I sold off my heavy lenses, power drive booster, etc.
