I need to buy a wide angle lens for my trip, a lot of landscapes to cover. I have a budget of 300-400, what can I get? Right now I have a Vitacon 19-35 but its crap.

I don't think you can get anything wider/better than the kit lens for that amount...

I don't think you can get anything worse than the vitacon :bsmilie:
Read the reviews (dpreview.com; photozone.de); check price guides and Buy&Sell. If your wide angle starts with 19mm and you are on crop sensor body better stick to kit lens. A decent wide angle needs a few bucks more. Read up about hyperfocal distance, DOF and aperture to get sharp images. Tripod comes handy as well.

Personally, i dont have any experience renting lenses, but you can always check out how much it cost to rent UWA lens for the trip, if purchase budget is an issue.

U can try check out a used sigma 10-20mm, might still exceed the budget a little. pretty much as wide as u can get for a crop sensor ( not talking about the uber fisheyes ).
