It will not overkill, just nice, but a bit inconvenience if u tend to change lens or cameras a lot, normally I use it when go long journey or long walk, it does provide the protection and comfort, typically I pack a camera body, 3-4 lens, 1 flash, some spare memory cards and batteries, cleaning cloth, tissue, air blower, swiss kinfe, torch, giant transparent plastic bag, mozzie spray, mopiko cream, band-aid, etc...

ya...true for backpack will be more comfy n less pain on 1 shoulder than sling as for changing lens..not a problem, i have a habit to put down my SF too....except if will keep take the cam in n out...

just need to convince myself it is not over kill to me..haha:bsmilie:

as a both sling bag and backpack user, would like to say the following:
- its v.useful (for minitrekker) for distributing weight for carrying multiple lens esp the heavier ones (any lens 1kg or more i consider them as heavy)
- deployment wise, its definitely much slower than a slingbag.
- slingbags are suitable for smaller cameras / lesser equipment Or for people with v.strong shoulders (i know i dont have one. lol)

I pack two bodies, three lenses, one flash, lightsphere, bounce card, umbrella, extra batteries and sometimes extra film.
With extra space for other small accessories.
With good space management lots can actually be packed into a minitrekker.

One way to solve the slow deployment problem is to carry a lens case along or a smaller bag which can hold your other lens while shooting.A bit more bulky, but faster reaction time.

well...i only carry my compurover if i hav tonnes of stuff to bring or a place to leave it once i reach my destination...if not...i'd prob use a slingbag...
