Yah I think the title speaks all. What should I actually do when taking the sunset? Step by step explanations would be cool =D  Thanks!

first, must know where the sun will set.
second, must know when the sun will set.
third, must know how to take the sunset.

Eh explain more pls? =)
Like need to focus to infinity? What bout shutter speed? 1 or 2 sec? Shooting in raw would it help?

focus: it depand your composition, any foregound subject?
shutter 1~2sec? sun already gone down liao.
RAW or Jpg, depand on your workflow.

important: know how compose your image, know how and where to take meter reading from and expose your image.
for me, I take meter reading around the sun but not including the sun, mostly shoot underexpose base on the reading, judging from the LCD to suit my taste.

i wld focus to infinity with big F number and bracket exposures...
so tripod is a must.
best if use remote shutter or timed shutter to avoid touching the cam.

safety tip:dun stare at sun for too long even if its sunset..

Go to industrial areas, dust particles (pollution) in the air creates dramatic colours heh heh... Jurong island in the past was my favourite but now out of bounds. If you can find someplace around tuas am quite sure you will like the colours heh heh...
