Hi!

if u bring ur equipment out for 1 week in a tropical area, what do you do to prevent fungus growth? put some silica gel in the bag? means gotta bring alot rite? sorry, any idea?
never had to bring out for so long before... thanks!:D

Don't worry too much. Fungus is not going to grow on your lens in 1 week, even in a tropical area.

Just enjoy your trip & happy shooting.

hhmm.. alrite! thanks! :bsmilie:

but not effiicient...imagine the number of times u open the ziplock to access the lens. and silica absorbs moisture very fast. unless u replace the silica after everytime u open when ur travelling?? cannot be rite..

unless u bring silica gel refill everywhere u go...

In the hotel room, turn on aircon all the time. It will bring down humidity to below 50%RH, which is good for Camera stuff.

regarding the silica rite, if u bring it there and put in ziploc bags, then when the security open up ur bags, aren't they going to give u a hella trouble and checking it again and again to see if that is some dangerous pills?

go out and shoot more under the bright sunny day.

Never concern me though when I am traveling with some extra lens. Guess the hotel aircon did a good job at night.

for that to work, cannot use UV filter...:D

Don't need to worry lah... as long as you keep the lens in constant usage, no fungus will grow.

Modern lenses already screen out a large portion of UV ray liao. It's only the really old glass lenses that might have a problem with UV rays.
