Since you are trading without a laptop or tv nearby, the most you can do is to magnify the playback image as much as possible, and scroll through the image carefully to look for dead pixels.
I recommend you take a pic at 1/125s with the lens cap on, and use that pic to check for dead pixel.

Using the zoom lever, you can zoom into the pic on the small LCD, zoom to the largest magnification. Then scroll along the image, make sure to cover all parts of it, and look for any non-black spots (bright white, pink, green etc). If there is any, high chance it is a dead pixel.
If you are not familiar with the magnification of the playback image, the seller should be able to help you.
