Need some wise inputs here...that is what would be the ideal setting when you're taking evening shots for:

1) Sunsets
2) City skyline

ISO, Shutter, Aperture?

For my case, I will use apperture from F8 - F16, ISO 100. shuttle speed auto (in AV mode). Use tripod!!!

Hmmm...makes sense. Cos the last time I used f8, ISO 200. Did not quite like the outcome. This time I'll do the adjustment.

can try iso 400(kodak tcn400, superia xtra 400, provia 400), f8, aperture priority mode, matrix metering, bracket the exposure by bracketing the shutter speed:

5~6 pm: u get around 1/4 sec.

7+pm: u get around 2 sec

830+pm: 6 to 10 to 15 seconds.

are you using Sony F828 ?

try these settings

- lowest ISO
- use auto WB or custom WB
- use center weighted or evaluative metering
- manual settings : f8 + 1sec to 15sec (depend on metering)
- bracketing shots from -1 to 0 to +1
- tripod
- release cable or timer mode
- horizon the level ( use spirit level )
- compose a few different angles on the same scenery ( wide , zoom in , etc )

Great advice. I shall follow suit.
