What lens to bring to shanghai..

asking for my friend

she has a Canon 400D.. besides the kit lens (EF-S 18-55mm), she has a 50/f1.8 prime lens..
she is going to shanghai this dec and wants to bring only 1 lens.. which lens should she bring?

she is taking group photo of kids too.. so how?

any advise?

bring the kit lens.

despite being slower, its far more versatile than the 50.

the crop factor will render the 50 unsuitable for group potraits.

kit lens slow? jus up the iso.

i mean... doesn't make sense to buy it if you don't use it right?
There'll definitely be opportunities to utilise a fast lens with great bokeh like the 50mm prime :think:

I'd bring both :think:


P.S- If She really wants to bring only one, then yea, the kit. No-brainer
