Set F to 2.0 ~ 2.8 RANGE
your subject should be a bit nearer to your camera. (not sure if you know what i mean)

if you wan super bokeh, LX3 cant create but normal bokeh DOF .... LX3 is doing good with it.

Just for fun shot:

(1) The focus is on the grapes whereas background is blurred should be the DOF or bokeh u looking for.

(2) The focus is at the grill whereas the background is blurred ...

just a very slight bokeh..

shot in F2.0..
and as you can see..
i was very near to the dog..

for me..
the easiest way to get bokeh is to
1. use F2.0
2. zoom all the way
3. get close to the subject

Hey Idontreallylikepink! your awesome thanks for answering most of me question ! ARiGaTor !

getting more bg oof can be done with 3 ways.

1) increase focal length
2) open up aperture
3) increase background to camera distance relative to subject distance, or you can minimise subject distance relative to background-camera distance.

Awesome!!!
Did u happen to have bought the opeteka wide angle lens?

the wide angle I got is the cheapo one from pandabase. it was good for start/play around. the opteka shud be better.

to TS..come to think of it ...maybe by changing the focus to spot may help constrain the focus area.

not difficult at all, don't really need any lens attachments.

here's my wife's first try at bokeh on her LX3:

close-up shot, macro setting at P mode, with spot focus.
