Hello all,

If I were to make a compartment in which I would place a camera and lens; and in making that compartment I used glue...

Can someone suggest what types of glue are safe to use.

I mention this because I once had to put a device in a chamber that had a barometric sensor in it.
I used super glue .... the gas that emitted from the super glue killed the sensor.

So I am curious if any one knows a safe glue that can be used on say wood and plastic that does not give off a gas ??

Cheers :)

I was about to suggest Epoxy Glue or Gorilla Glue but...

Hi jsbn,

It is an area I am out of my depths with, I simply don't know and don't want to find out the worst way.

I am thinking like this .... if say, you made a box to keep your camera in and you decided to paint it inside.

When you thought it was dry enough (say a day or 2 later) you put your camera in it only to find the paint was still cureing,
and the gas/vapour given off, clouds your lens (or worse) your sensor.

This could happen with the wrong choice of glue.

Cheers :)

Alternatively, u can try taking the 'shelf' drilling 4 holes to insert those rounded sticks in them or screws and secure them with good ol' fashioned hinges?

Maybe this is way outta what u want, but personally I feel it's more secure this way. :)
