So how does the current press photographers got the job ?

Through head hunt ?

What qualifications are required ??

"you need to have at least a degree, some big shot here decrees so"


this i dun agree, but LL have to accept, i don't see the relation of having a degree
and the ability to shoot great news photography. :dunno:

To be successful you must know the right person...

how to build the right connections ?? :confused:

i think after the connections thingy

you must also be able to deliver the results
the ability to spot a story and illustrate it with your camera
the ability to write a story is even more useful

maybe just keep shooting and improving, till someone thinks
you got the potential? A plus point if you are young.

If you are getting old like me, chances are slimmer, depends
on if they wanna help realize your potential. Kekeke :sweatsm:

Must it be a "good" degree from one of our 3 local universities?

nowadays...they prefer to hire someone who can do both jobs for price of one,
you say leh.

even if you wouldnt wanna adhere, someone else will spoil market offer his services
for even lower price. You can't stop that. This is Singapore. :bsmilie:

My company outsourced its cleaning services, webdesign and network maintainence all to me...

And I am now designing product brochures as part of my value added services to them

The filling-of-job-vacancy process in any companies normally starts from the inner circle (E.g. friends) to the outer circle (e.g. public via adverts). Reason for this is cost and the ease of finding a person more appropriate via recommendation.
