What do you do with dead cameras?

Just wondering, say u got a camera that is dead, being repair at a reasonable price.
What do you do with it? Any way it can be put to good use? Recycled some parts perhaps?

The main reason why I am asking this :

There are probably some good parts that can still be used given the proper contact and know how. To just simply disposed it is not only a waste, it is also contributing to the trash problem more than neccessary.

Right now got a 7HI that has circuit problem, and is no longer worth repairing......

Display and experiment with it. I destroyed a minolta lens 80-200mm (i think), took the bellow with the outer element, tape it to my 50mm and it became super macro lens with MC. The DOF was razor thin but pic was good. On the 50mm, my min distant became 10mm + from subject. Quite interesting.........
