For me -- a whole lot less than I did 8-10 years ago. I remember various trips to Vietnam, Greece, Nepal etc where I lugged 2 manual bodies (FM2n + FE2), 24mm, 50mm and 75-150zoom plus tripod, flash etc. On my more recent trips to Russia, India and egypt all that was cut down to just a D70 and 18-70 lens plus a P&S. Soon I'll be off again to Eastern Europe and this time my bag will have a D60, 16-85 and 70-300VR. Actually I'm still reconsidering the 70-300 ;) As I get older and lazier I bring smaller and simpler stuff!

My last Photo trip was to Bangkok, late last year....

Canon EOS 400D with BG
EF-S 17-55mm f2.8 IS USM
EF 70-200mm f4 IS USM L
EF 50mm f1.4 USM

Sigma 10-20mm f4.5.6 HSM DC

All inside a Lowepro Flipside 400AW

my maiden voyage with my dslr setup in June.
should be as follows.

Nikon D300 with MB-D10
Tamron 17-50mm f/2.8
2 x 4GB CF

Hopefully I can get a UWA DX lens before I go.

All carried in a Lowepro bag.

10.5 FE

.

You need to ask what type of trip.

But in most cases, nowadays, my trusty near industructable (ok, I never tried) Olympus 850 SW.

I think it is a bit heavy for me.

1) Sony a200
2) KM 50 F1.7 (of coz)
3) KM 35-105 F3.5-4.5 (of coz)
4) KM 75-300 F4.5-5.6 (too heavy, about 900g, will choose between 4 and 5)
5) KM 100-200 F4.5
6) Sony HLV 42 AM (of coz)
7) Minolta 505 si Super (film, not sure whether I should take it with me, most probably not)
8) Vanguard UP-RISE 43 (my lovely bag)
9) My glasses. :)

Any particular reason why do you bring the Minolta 80-200mm F2.8 and 70-210mm f4 out to HK? I just thought the range is about the same.
You must be a big strong guy to carry all these for a HK trip.;p

I am going to HK next week.
Bringing my FM2 and 50mm f/1.8 only. :)

Intending to get a 24-70 f/2.8 or 24-105 f/4 when I am there, but too lazy to bring my dslr.
I am sure they will let me try on their display set cameras right?

Wow, paid shoot or Holiday? Can't imagine packing so much and flying to Hong Kong. Last time I was there was many years ago for 1 month but I only brought 2 bodies and about 4 lenses. All OM film stuff so it was lighter and about 60 rolls of film. Driving to malaysia maybe will pack more but flying has it's own set of limitations.

my normal gear list

D80
Tamron 17-50 f2.8 (mounted)
Nikon 105mm macro
SB800
Gitzo 1541T
spare battery and charger
spare SD cards
water bottle
