You sound like you are giving flowers to a girl you're carrying a torch for. If that's really the case: champagne or pink would be nice. One will do.

Girls like tulips too. White or pink is simple and nice.

Agree with rains.
Champagne is good for giving to lady friends.

If not lily will be nice also.

A stalk of red China rose. Simple and shows gratitude. Giving rose is a good form of encouragement.

Yeah , something like that:embrass:

You didn't tell us what the roses are for. There're some common meanings associated with each colour (but sometimes you hear many different versions, choose whichever suites you I guess). Try these:

Thanks , the links is great!

Any decent florist will have champagne roses. It's not expensive. It should be about $1 for unwrapped version. Even if it's wrapped, it's still cheap. Just pick your rose carefully. Don't pick one that has petals browning at the edge.

China roses are bigger. I personally don't fancy them becos they don't look as 'refined' as the smaller breeds. But it shouldn't matter if your friend is not an expert in flowers.

Like I mentioned, any decent florist should have roses, esp champagne ones. Just don't get yellow ones.

It's alright not to know what a girl likes despite knowing her for a decade when you're in your teens. Just don't repeat the same mistake after she becomes your gf. Even if she's your gf for just 1 week, you better know what she's trying to tell you by a blink of her eye.

I used to go to Gloria just above Orchard Road MRT for some unusual roses ie. light green, blue. I'm not sure if it's still there. Aiya, any small florist sure got sell roses lah.

I hope this helps: girls like guys to be direct in their pursuit. If you like her, make it known to her lah. Don't ai mai ai mai.

Hmmm... why did you write "her"?
Normally we would have just written: ... i know her for almost a decade...
and not: ... i know "her" for almost a decade...
Do you mean to say she is not "her" but something else? ("Him" or "It"?)
My apologies, I just thought that was quite an interesting point, sonyboy...

I believe most girls would know yellow roses means 'a break-up' except for those who are really uninformed.

If you're looking at just one stalk, it makes very little diff anywhere. Perhaps $2 at most if it's really exorbitant?

No need to go until there to buy 1 rose lah. I don't even know if it's still there anyway.

limwhow,
I like young boys becos they don't mince their words. His quotation marks are probably just an indication of a special individual, not an implication of a dubious gender. He has not learnt how to nickpick on others' words yet.

Aiya, any number also got meaning lah. 1 stalk also means 'Only you'. 2 stalks means ... what huh? Something about 2 persons/a couple lah.

Then a bouquet leh? Even more explicit right? And expensive somemore.

Then don't buy lah.

I thought you want her to know that you got feelings for her? If not, you buy rose for her for what?

Go pick a bunch of wild flowers from a field and wrap it up in an organza cloth with a hemp 'ribbon'.

Can't go wrong with type of flowers and color, and the effort should impress "her".

Just don't pluck weeds or lalang can liao! :bsmilie:
